INFORMATIONS
Information for new and prospective parents
Have you applied for a place at EEB4? Are you looking for some information on the parents association or just how the school works? Whether you have applied for maternelle or are joining in secondary, this Guide is here to answer a few common questions. Please feel free to contact us for more information: info@bru4.eu or check out the more detailed pages on our website. We also have a power point presentation.
What is the APEEE and what do you do?
The APEEE is the parents association. We have a Board of parent administrators and an office run by our permanent staff. We provide the transport, canteen and extra-curricular activities programme. Members of the Board represent the parents in the various pedagogical meetings throughout the year both in our school and at the level of the European school system. We also have a community fund which supports projects in the school. And we try to organise fun events to bring the parent community together!
What don’t you do?
The APEEE does not organise the garderies which are administered by the OIB. If you need info on the garderie, please contact:
garderies-postscolaires@ec.europa.eu.
The APEEE does not decide on the curriculum or on the teaching resources. But we do participate in pedagogical discussions. If you have pedagogical questions, you can contact the parent representative at pedagogy@bru4.eu. The APEEE does not have control over the facilities/ access to the school – but we do follow health and safety issues. If you have questions about the school site/access, you can contact the parent health and safety representative at hswg@bru4.eu
I need transport next year – what do I do?
Every year we plan the network of bus routes based on the addresses of children enrolled in the first enrolment phase. For the school year 2016 – 2017 the first enrolment phase will open on 2 May 2016 and will close on 31 May 2016. If you want to make sure your address is taken in to account (although we give no guarantee for the creation of a bus stop) when routes are planned, please enrol in this period! You can still enrol afterwards – but you will be allocated a stop on existing lines.
If you have to withdraw (for example because you don’t get a place at this school), you will not have to pay for the transport provided that you withdraw your enrolment before the start of the school year! The enrolments will be available online – here. The routes will be published in August 2016. For more information please see the transport pages.
Do I have to use the canteen/ how do I sign up?
Children can either use the canteen or come in with a packed lunch. You don’t have to use the canteen every day – you can sign up for 3 or 4 days. Once you have enrolled, you are committed for the calendar year unless you fall in to one of the exemptions (for example medical grounds).
Enrolments for 2016 – 2017 will open in June 2016 via the website. Please read the rules before enrolling! There is a maximum capacity – do not leave it too late to enrol. If you have to withdraw before the start of the school year you will not be charged.
How do I sign up for extra-curricular activities?
Our programme for 2016 – 2017 will be launched in early June 2016. You can sign up on the website. Please read the rules carefully. Although our activities are filled on a first come first served basis – we do accept enrolments throughout the year. If you are in secondary, you might want to wait until you have your final timetable before signing up.
If I do an after school activity organised by the APEEE, can I take a bus home afterwards?
This will depend on both the availability of places and on the after school schedules. Priority on the second bus departure is currently given to those children who have school classes. But if you want a place, identify the route and then contact the office to see if there is one available. We try to meet all requests.
I have a question – who do I contact?
If your question is about the transport/canteen or extra-curricular activities services, and you cant find the answer on the websiteyou should contact the office first.
If you have an issue with payment please contact accounting@bru4.eu
If you have a more general question, contact info@bru4.eu and we will make sure your question is forwarded to someone can help.
How can I contact other parents in my section?
We have section representatives whose details are here. Every class also has a class representative elected at the beginning of the school year.
How do I contact the Board?
The details of members of the Board are here.
