The Parents Association of the Brussels IV European School (APEEE BRU IV) is a not-for-profit international association (AISBL) which has been established in accordance with Belgian legislation.

The APEEE Brussels IV is looking for an Extracurricular Assistant

 

The extracurricular service is a dynamic department made up of a team of almost 50 monitors. The aim is to offer pupils a wide choice of activities after school, in areas as varied as sport, music, languages and arts and leisure. Private lessons and one-off events are also organised: ski trips, end-of-school-year courses, concerts and open days.

 

Job description:

A 2nd assistant is required to work with another assistant to ensure that day-to-day activities run smoothly, organise events and assist the manager with administrative follow-up and organisational support for the department.

The post reports to the head of the extracurricular service.

Your role:

  • Manage enrolments (changes, monitoring payment requests, refunds, etc.), develop and monitor administrative procedures; monitor and archive files.
  • Participate in the programming and organisation of activities and private lessons, and aim for continuous improvement.
  • External communications: handling departmental emails, telephone contacts, drafting communications for parents and monitors.

In collaboration with the communication department: updating the content of the ‘extracurricular’ section of the APEEE website, developing and updating communication media.

  • Managing equipment: ordering and receiving equipment, taking inventory, ensuring that equipment is available for activities.
  • Organising and coordinating events organised by the service (courses, concerts, open days, etc.).
  • Supervising the team of instructors and supervisors by being present in the field: evaluating and ensuring that the quality of the content of the activities and the instructors’ teaching approach are maintained.
  • Acting as a link between the service manager and the instructors.
  • Support in the recruitment, monitoring and replacement of instructors.

 

Candidate profile :

Technical skills :

  • University degree or training in the field concerned or a similar field.
  • At least 3 years’ professional experience.
  • Experience in teaching, pedagogy or knowledge of a school environment. Familiarity with issues such as bullying, inclusion of children with special needs or conflict management would be an asset.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, analytical, comprehension and oral and written communication skills.
  • Creative and interested in content creation, knowledge of Canva and WordPress would be an asset.
  • Very good knowledge of French and English is imperative, and writing skills in French and English are required. Any other language is a plus.
  • Familiar with the Office 365 suite.

A full-time CDD contract for 1 year, with the possibility of an extension to a CDI.
