Subject: Preparation of General Assembly and Your Voting Rights

In conformity with Article 6,5 of the Statutes in force, the Board of the Parents Association wish to inform you that the General Assembly (GA) will take place on Tuesday January 31st 2012 from 7.00pm to 11.00 pm. We would like to remind you that, in accordance with Art. 6,7 of the Statutes, you can communicate any points to be included in the draft agenda of the GA in writing to the Board by Tuesday January 10th, 2012 at the latest. Please note that all points raised at the GA have to be accompanied by a detailed explanatory statement and be supported by at least 10 effective members (class representatives) or 20 adherent members or 2 administrators.

Please send your proposals either in English or French to info@bru4;eu.  The Commission does not provide interpretation for the General Assembly of the Parents Association. Therefore, I would like to ask those of you who would be able and willing to provide interpretation ad personam either for English or French at the GA to get in contact with the Parents Association office to ensure that all participants at the GA understand.

Additionally, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the GA also elects the members to the Board. As of January 2012, 9 Board members will continue their work as they have only completed one year of the 2 year mandate in accordance with Article 12,1 of the Statute.

Therefore, there are 12 vacancies on the Board to be filled and we would like to ask you to consider being a candidate for a position on the Board. Please keep in mind that we do expect you to consider this carefully that you are free to “invest” a certain amount of time as in the current year some board-members resigned due to the fact that they underestimated the workload and thought they could combine job, family and board-work but discovered the opposite. We hope that we can recruit ACTIVE people “on board” who want to “change” something, not someone looking for an additional title. Mainly, we are looking for someone with experience in IT (CMS Joomla based sites) who could be webmaster.

I also would like to take this chance to mention that if you are not considering becoming a Board member but want to involve yourself more in the school-community, please get in touch, you might be interested in joining one of the several Working-groups.Should there be more members elected that places available on the Board, according to the statute, a waiting list will be established in relation to the votes cast.I would like to remind you that you do not need to be a class representative to be elected. Every adherent member can stand as a candidate. The GA is open to all members but only class representatives who have paid the annual contribution of 50 Euros will be entitled to vote at the GA. The account number is: 132-5315455-90.If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office.

Kind regards,

Horst Nickels

President of the Parents Association Brussels IV
