The European Week for Waste Reduction 2024 is a major initiative aimed at making citizens, businesses and institutions aware of the importance of reducing our waste production and adopting a more sustainable behaviour. The initiative, which runs from 16 to 24 November, will focus on concrete actions to encourage re-use, re-cycling and the reduction of excessive consumption.
The APEEE has been actively committed to reducing its environmental impact since 2022. We have installed filtered water dispensers in the canteen, which has resulted in a reduction of around 500 kg of plastic per year.
In 2024, our canteen service also introduced the sale of daily menu excesses, in order to reduce food waste.
