1st semester
The aim of the first semester is to give the children a first contact with musical writing. They will discover the importance of the treble clef, learn to identify its first five notes (C, D, E, F and G) and write them in the five musical lines.
The children will become familiar with the functioning of the piano and its mechanism and will learn to play the first five notes on the piano with the right hand. To deepen the learning of music, the children will be introduced to rhythm, binary and ternary, and to the duration of musical notes: round, white and black.
In order to broaden the repertoire and the passion for art and music, the children will be offered passages from concerts and pieces of music. They will discover great composers from different cultures and eras.
2e semester
The objective of the second semester is to be able to write a first small piano score. The children will discover the key of F and its notes (C, B, A, G, F). They will practise writing these notes and playing them on the piano with their left hand.
They will also learn that silence is also part of music. They will become familiar with the names, the duration and learn to write each silence on a score: pause, half-pause, sigh.
At the end of the year, they will write their first piano score together. And the children will be able to play simple scores with beautiful melodies with both hands together.
