Claire Minost

Pedagogical Vision

Help children discover books, stories, images… Books that can move them, amaze them, make them dream, laugh, think, awaken their curiosity… Books that help them to grow up and participate in the construction of their childhood memories.

After studying agricultural engineering in France, Claire travelled and travelled, in Guyana, Ethiopia, Guinea, Eritrea, Senegal… and each time she was able to adapt, to find new ways to fulfil herself… and to share her passions. Progressively, reading and more particularly children’s literature took over, to the point of encouraging her, once back in Europe, to resume her studies and get a Master’s degree in Children’s and Youth Literature.

The children may know her…  She has replaced the librarians of the European School in Laeken on several occasions and has been reading the Bernard Versele Prize books to nursery and primary school classes since 2012.

Claire lives out her passion, as outside of school she continues to train and discover the world of children’s books by participating in the selection of books for the Versele prize. She is a member of the jury for the Libbylit novel prizes, the French-speaking Belgian section of the IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People).
