1st semester
The objective of the first semester is to learn the basics of the guitar.
Children are getting familiar with a guitar, i.e. how to hold it and how to position their hands. Different instruments and effects are used, such as the acoustic or electric guitar, the bass or the “loop station” in order to develop musical sensitivity but also to know how to distinguish musical genres. The children will study and begin to play easy songs and melodies together, always with the monitor playing the drums. In this way they acquire a sense of rhythm. At the same time as practicing the instrument, they learn the basics of music theory and how to read notes on a tablature.
2nd semester
The second semester’s objective is to learn how to play together.
The children keep learning the guitar while focusing on how to play with the other students as a group. The knowledge acquired in the first semester gives them a good understanding of what music is, how it is made and how to play or compose pieces together.
To deepen your guitar learning, we offer private lessons with Manos or Adrien.
Please bring your own guitar (if necessary, spare material available at the school).
