Welcome to the Spring edition of our newsletter! After a short break we are back with updates on the N/P and Secondary Education Councils, details of new projects supported by the Community Fund and various updates on health and safety issues. On the services front, remember that the first enrolment phase for transport closes on 31 May 2016. Enrolments for extra-curricular activities will open on 1 June so keep checking the website for details of the activites. You should also have received details about the upcoming Performing Arts Day via email - for those of you who are wondering what Periscolaire involves, this is an excellent opportunity to come and see!

Finally, you should have received detils via email about this year's Somerfesto. The Somerfesto Committee has organised a wide range of exciting activities for kids of all ages to enjoy. Please volunteer to help make it the most successful school party ever!

If you are interested in purchasing a ticket to use another bus route, this is now possible. Commission agrees to treat Schuman Bus as a reimbursable second line

The PMO of the Commission informed the APEEE at the end of October that it will treat the Schuman Bus as a second line which it will reimburse the costs of provided that the maximum allowance is not exceeded. At the moment, this only applies to those parents for whom the PMO is responsible. The APEEE has contacted all other relevant institutions and agencies to inform them of this position and to request that they follow this decision.

canteen team

As part of the process of obtaining the "Sustainable Canteen" accreditation, the Canteen team has carried out a study on food waste at EEB4. The study ran from 8 January 2015 to 1 June 2015 and has already led to changes in working practices in line with the recommendations and training provided by Bruxelles Environnement . The full study will be published on the canteen pages of the website. For an overview of how the canteen managed to reduce waste by a massive 406Kg, see the statistics below.
