On 3 March the Nursery/Primary Education council met. Parents representatives from the Dutch, German and English sections attended. You should have received summaries from your section reps but here is an overview!

The topics discussed included security, the evolution of the various classes and sections for the next school year and the follow up on the whole school inspection. The discussion reflected the need for consistent security procedues to be in place and parents made the point that some feel that the barriers being put up between parents and the school are excessive. Issues such as the weight of backpacks, swimming lessons and the transition from P5 to Primary were also on the agenda.

We take this opportunity to remind you that parents who have specific health and safety concerns (including security) can contact the APEEE's dedicated working group at Cette adresse e-mail est protégée contre les robots spammeurs. Vous devez activer le JavaScript pour la visualiser.

The Community Fund has granted funding to a gardening and landscaping project. The CFC’s recommendation to fund this project up to a total of 3,000 euros was approved by the CA in their meeting on 10 November 2015.

On 25 September 2015, the CFC received an application for funding from one of the teachers in the EN section, Noel Rowland, to support a project To develop a coordinated landscaped site for EEB4.  This will take the form of individual garden areas for seasonal vegetable, annual flowering plants and miniature fruit trees.  The project will link with similar projects in different countries. Its envisaged that the project will involve all sections and levels and will be taught both in DDM and through European Hours. The CFC welcome this exciting initiative.
