Commission child-minding centres:

The European Commission organises inter-institutional after-school childcare facilities for the children of staff. These facilities are divided between several sites: Wilson (+ Van Maerlant), Cole, Beaulieu, Geneve and the European school Berkendael-Laeken).

The supervised childcare structure means that children are cared for by qualified staff, from their arrival at the centres until closing time.

On site, various activities are available, from crafts to games and sports. Supervised study is also arranged.

The after-school childcare facilities are open every day, from the end of the school day onwards, as well as during the majority of school holidays in which parents work: All Saints, Christmas/New Year, Carnival, Ascension or Whitsunday and teacher training days

Enrolment applications

For parents working for the Commission

In order to simplify administrative procedures and to improve the processing of the children's files, the unit responsible for the running of the crèches and childcare centres has launched a few years ago an IT application. KiddyWeb is a program that allows parents to create the personal file of their children, including the authorisations to collect the child, and to ensure its regular updating. The applications for enrolment are also introduced via KiddyWeb.

For the time being, KiddyWeb is accessible only to parents working in the Commission. The application can be accessed at the address http://www.cc.cec/kiddyweb, access rights being controlled via ECAS.

Parents whose child(ren) attended the childcare centres during the last two years receive at the beginning of the enrolment time an email containing a link to a pre-filled file in the KiddyWeb IT application. It just remains for them to confirm an enrolment for the after school childcare 2011-2012 by validating this file.
